EURO 2016: Nolito as Spain’s Promising Player

Nolito has been named as Spain’s promising player as he has some outstanding appearances in several football matches. This latecomer player has really come to La Liga more than eighteen months. His outstanding performance has led him to some rumor that he is going to return back to Barcelona where he spent his three years experience with the B team before transferred to Benfica right in 2011. Nolito wasn’t capped by any youth teams of Spain, however, his performance during a match in Celta Vigo was noticed by Vicente del Bosque, who later give him a debut to a friendly match against Germany last year. His four assist and four goals have made Celta Vigo ran into the fourth position into the La Liga league.

Personal Information

Manuel Agudo Duran or Nolito is Spain’s promising player who was born on October 15th, 1986. He plays as a forward or left-winger for Celta de Vigo.

He signed for Barcelona in 2008 when starting his career at some lower-league clubs. After that, he moved to a Portuguese football club, Benfica. He went back to Spain as he was loaned back to Granada before joining Celta de Vigo right in 2013. In November 2014, he made his first debut with Spanish National football team.

  • Barcelona

Nolito was born in Sanlucar de Barrameda, Andalusia. He arrived at FC Barcelona at the age 22. He has appeared with Ecija Balompiein within 2/3 division season. With Barcelona he successfully scored sixteen goals with the two seasons are combined. He also briefly represented Valencia CF, but then he quickly returned to Atletico Sanluqueno  CF as his first club.

He made his La Liga debut with Barcelona replacing Pedro Rodrigues on October 3rd, 2010. The game was 1-1 home against RCD Mallorca. He scored in a match against AD Ceuta with 5-1 home winning for Copa del Rey season with 7 vs. 1 aggregate.

  • Benfica

Nolito rejected a professional contract offered by Barcelona in late May, 2011. Otherwise, hesigned a five year contract with Benfica and was effective on July 1st, 2011. He scored his first goal when Benfica against Trabzonspor with 2-0 winning during UEFA Champions League season. He also tried to score one more goal but failed.

Nolito also scored when his club against C.D Feirense with 3-1 winning. It made him to be alongside player with Eusebi. He scored his fifteen goals within 48 official football matches that helped Benfice to be the winner of domestic league cup.

  • Celta de Vigo

Nolito signed a four-year contract with Celta de Vigo on July 1st, 2013. His uniting with Celta made him to meet his former boss at Barcelona B, Luis Enrique. He was named as player of the month of La Liga in September 2014 as he scored 4 goals that made Celta was in 6th position. he already collects an assist and 3 goals that help his club to be unbeaten team as well as making him as the second player of the month and nominating him as Spain’s promising player.
